What the work involves

Day to day

Producing video end to end - concept, script, shoot, edit and publish - either for clients or for your own channel, where you also handle audience growth, sponsorship and the business side.

02

Who this suits

Fit

Self-directed people who can finish things repeatedly. Equipment costs have collapsed, India is among the largest video audiences in the world, and regional language content is where the most genuine growth is happening.

03

The honest reality

Read this one

Creator income is extremely concentrated - a small number earn well and the large majority earn very little, and consistency over years matters more than any single video. Ad revenue alone rarely sustains an Indian channel; sponsorship and other products do. Algorithm dependence means your livelihood rests on a company that owes you nothing. Burnout from constant publishing is widespread, as is the effect of public comment on mental health. Client production work is the steadier income and worth keeping alongside.
