What the work involves
Day to day
Designing and running physical preparation programmes - strength, speed, mobility and injury reduction - for athletes, teams or private clients, with testing and progression tracked over a season.
Who this suits
Fit
People who want to work in sport through science rather than performance. Indian teams and academies increasingly employ dedicated conditioning staff, and a recognised certification carries more weight here than a degree.
The honest reality
Read this one
The certification market is full of worthless credentials sold cheaply, so verify which bodies employers actually recognise before paying. Elite team posts are very few; most work is commercial gym or private client training, where hours are early mornings and late evenings and income depends on client retention. An athlete's injury will be blamed on you whether or not it was preventable.
