01

What the work involves

Day to day

Supporting delivery from the technical end - preparing and revising drawings, taking measurements, checking work against specification, and coordinating labour and materials on site day to day.

02

Who this suits

Fit

Diploma holders and ITI-trained technicians who want to enter construction immediately. Hiring is steady and not exam-gated, and site experience gained here is exactly what makes later progression to supervisor or contractor possible.

03

The honest reality

Read this one

Pay at entry is low and the ceiling stays low without upgrading the qualification - lateral entry to a diploma or degree is the usual escape. Site conditions are hot, dusty and long-houred. Contractor employment is often informal, with weak job security and irregular payment. You take instructions from engineers and pressure from both directions.
