What the work involves

Day to day

Selling inputs to dealers and farmers across an assigned territory - product demonstration, dealer relationships, credit and collection, and meeting seasonal sales targets. The job is spent travelling the territory.

02

Who this suits

Fit

Agriculture graduates who are comfortable with people and targets. This is the largest private employer of agriculture graduates in India by some distance, hiring is regular rather than exam-gated, and earnings rise with performance instead of seniority.

03

The honest reality

Read this one

It is a sales job, and many graduates take it without accepting that. Targets are unforgiving, and pressure to push volume can conflict with what a farmer's field actually needs - agrochemical over-application in India is partly a product of this incentive. Constant travel and rural postings are the norm. Season failure crushes your numbers regardless of how well you worked.
