Design / CAD & CAE Engineer
₹4–18 LPA · SolidWorks, Ansys
- Remote
- Varies
- Qualification
- Typically Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech).
What the work involves
Day to day
Turning requirements into manufacturable designs - 3D modelling, tolerance and material decisions, and simulation of stress, thermal or flow behaviour before anything is built.
Who this suits
Fit
Mechanical engineers with strong fundamentals who enjoy solving physical problems. Simulation skill in particular is valued and reasonably scarce, and engineering services work for global clients is a large Indian industry.
The honest reality
Read this one
A great deal of Indian work is outsourced execution - running analyses to someone else's specification rather than owning the design - and that ceiling frustrates people over time. Software licences are expensive so learning happens on the job. Simple modelling work is increasingly automated. Understanding the physics is what protects you; knowing the software is not enough and never was.
