What the work involves

Day to day

Building and coordinating digital models of a project so that architecture, structure and services resolve on screen before they clash on site - modelling, clash detection, drawing production and data management.

02

Who this suits

Fit

Civil and architecture graduates who are comfortable with software and detail. Overseas markets mandate BIM on public projects, which creates strong and continuing demand for Indian BIM teams serving foreign clients.

03

The honest reality

Read this one

Much of the work is production modelling to a foreign client's standard, which is repetitive and offers limited design involvement. Working hours often shift to overlap with client time zones. Indian domestic adoption remains patchy, so the domestic market is thin. Being only a software operator is a weak position - the people who progress understand construction, not just the tool.
