Former players who understand the sport from the inside and can teach it. The sports quota route into government employment is a real and underused pathway for accomplished athletes, and it offers security a playing career does not.

Read this one

A playing career ends early and often abruptly through injury, and very few athletes plan for what follows. Coaching posts outside cricket are limited and poorly paid, and selection in Indian sport is not always merit-driven. Keep an educational qualification running alongside the sport - the athletes who struggle most are the ones who did not.
