What the work involves

Day to day

General duty soldiering or a support trade in the Army - field duty, security, and trade work in areas such as catering, transport or maintenance depending on the role.

02

Who this suits

Fit

Physically fit candidates who have completed Class 10, wanting service and a route out of limited local employment. Training and discipline gained here carry weight with civilian employers afterwards, particularly in security and logistics.

03

The honest reality

Read this one

Physical selection standards eliminate a large share of applicants and rallies are heavily oversubscribed. Field postings are hard, including high-altitude and operational areas, and the risk is real. Since most will exit after the term without pension or full ex-servicemen status, build a civilian qualification during service - trade certification transfers far better than general duty experience does. Beware of agents promising selection for payment; recruitment is free and merit-based.
